Saturday just gone saw us head off to one of our favourite events… but at a brand new venue. Blas, which is organised by RCMA Markets (Cardiff Farmers Markets – http://www.riversidemarket.org.uk) had partnered with Cardiff University to offer an end of term event for the students, and a fantastic Christmas street food event for everyone else. We were located in the car park of the main university building on Park Place, making for quite the impressive venue.
Blas always attracts a great range of street food vendors, which when combined with some wonderful craft and gift stalls, plus some festive live music, made for a great atmosphere. The weather stayed dry for the evening and we really enjoyed meeting lots of interesting people and cooking up a storm!
We’d spend the week working on some festive burger specials – including the ‘Festive Fave’ with cheese, streaky bacon and red cabbage, plus the ‘Merry Cheesemas’
This limited time burger comes topped with Maasdam, herby cream cheese, and Wensleydale & Cranberry… because this time of year is all about excess right?
One of the best parts of this job for us is seeing people enjoy our food… and coming home to find fantastic feedback on social media. We can’t help but smile when people share pictures and comments about the food they’ve had from us…
These two feature another of our festive specials – the ‘Christmas in the Med’ burger, with grilled halloumi plus fresh green and red pepper pesto.
